The mission of Union College's engineering programs is to educate students for professional careers while giving them a foundation in the liberal arts that prepares them to be engaged, innovative, and ethical leaders in an increasingly diverse, global, and technologically complex society.
Union has developed a number of curriculum initiatives designed to produce students for the globally-connected technologically rich community of the 21st century. We call these initiatives "Converging Technologies" since they represent leading-edge technologies that emerge from the intersection of various fields. See the Converging Technologies page for more information.

Dr. Cherrice Traver,
Dean of
Engineering
Engineering is a social enterprise that uses the creative design process to solve problems for humanity. It is critical that engineers understand the social context for these solutions. Studying engineering in small classes in a liberal arts setting provides an integrated experience that produces graduates who:
understand the philosophical basis for the practice of engineering,
have critical thinking skills they can apply to all areas of life,
have the social skills to be excellent team members and leaders,
have a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, and
are committed to lifelong learning.
Union College offers majors leading to BS degrees in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. These programs are accredited by ABET Inc. (formerly the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology).
Master of Science programs in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering are offered at Union through the Union Graduate College.
